Beta Notice: The TailTracker Lost Pet Recovery Engine is currently in its beta testing phase through Q1 2026. During this time, users—including pet owners and Finder Network volunteers—are participating in ongoing testing and refinement of the system. While the technology employs AI-assisted behavioral prediction, all users are encouraged to continue using traditional lost pet recovery methods (flyers, shelter visits, local alerts, and in-person searches) as their primary recovery tools. TailTracker’s predictive systems are designed to complement, not replace, these proven methods until full release.
1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using TailTracker PBC (“TailTracker,” “we,” “us,” “our”) websites or mobile applications (collectively, the “Services”), you agree to these Terms. This includes participation as a Pet Owner, Finder Volunteer, or both. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Services immediately.
2. Dual Roles and the Services
TailTracker supports two primary roles that often overlap:
- Pet Owner Role: Create and manage pet profiles, track wellness, and activate the Lost Pet Recovery System (LPRS) in the event of a missing pet.
- Finder Volunteer Role: Receive local alerts, participate in recovery missions, report sightings, and assist other pet owners through the TailTracker Finder Network (operated by TailTracker Lost Pet Finder Network 501(c)(3)).
Many users participate in both roles. For example, a pet owner may also serve as a volunteer Finder for another family’s lost pet. Responsibilities and applicable disclaimers apply in both capacities.
3. User Accounts & Responsibilities
Users must provide accurate information when creating an account and maintain its confidentiality. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Whether acting as a pet owner or volunteer, you agree to follow all applicable safety guidelines, community standards, and local laws during any recovery mission.
Volunteers must never trespass, pursue animals on private property without permission, or endanger themselves or others. Pet owners are responsible for the accuracy of their pet data and for exercising judgment when following system recommendations.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services.
4. Subscriptions
Certain advanced features require a paid subscription processed through third-party providers such as Stripe. Subscription fees are billed on a recurring basis and may be canceled anytime in your account settings.
5. Intellectual Property
All TailTracker software, logos, AI models, and content are owned by TailTracker PBC. All rights reserved. You retain ownership of your uploaded materials (e.g., pet photos, sighting reports) but grant TailTracker a limited license to use that content to operate, improve, and promote the Services.
6. Disclaimers
The Services are provided “as is.” No guarantee of successful recovery is made or implied. The AI Behavioral GPS and recovery recommendations are predictive tools that assist recovery efforts but cannot ensure results. TailTracker does not control or assume responsibility for the independent actions of Finder Network volunteers. All users should continue to use caution, follow official guidance, and seek professional assistance when needed.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, TailTracker PBC, its affiliates, and its nonprofit partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for injuries, property damage, or emotional distress arising from participation in recovery missions or use of the Services.
8. Safety & Conduct
Users agree to uphold TailTracker’s safety and conduct standards. Finder Volunteers must follow approved sighting and containment protocols, maintain professionalism, and respect the privacy and property of others. Pet owners should communicate clearly and truthfully with volunteers and avoid making unsafe or unlawful requests. TailTracker reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts for unsafe, inappropriate, or noncompliant behavior.
9. Termination
TailTracker may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms, misuse of the Services, or any conduct that compromises safety, privacy, or community trust.
10. Updates to Terms
TailTracker may modify these Terms periodically. Updated versions will be posted on our official websites. Continued use of the Services after updates indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
